Steven Sheeley (Buckaroo Banzai)
Sysop of Split Infinity BBS
My first BBS was started in the late 80's as a Play by Turn online game called Windsong running on an Apple IIe, Dual 5.25“ floppy drives and a Hayes Micromodem 1200B modem. After a few years, it shut down when I moved from Washington state to Florida. Once setting in Florida I started Split Infinity on a Generic 286 system running T.A.G. Split Infinity went through several iterations over the years until the late 90's when it became Nexusprime and was running a 30 node system under PCBoard and a Novell Lan. We incorporated a SLIP line early on and became the 2nd largest ISP in Brevard County, FL before being shut down by MCI.
Over the years I've played with restarting the BBS but was never in a spot where we would be in one place for a long enough time.
I've recently restarted Split Infinity running Synchronet and am looking forward to being around for awhile.
I'm a VOIP engineer (Lync/Skype 4 Business) engineer for a large multinational corporation for my day job, an author and website designer/programmer in other times. I'm starting to get active in the Synchronet community, both here at the Wiki and programming utilities/doors.
